Over time, kitchen design has become more important. Where once it was a place where the woman of the house gathered to make meals for the family, the modern lifestyle has redefined the use of the kitchen. They are now considered a common space where families, friends and sometimes guests gather to enjoy delicious food and pleasant conversations.
In this Sig Bergamin–designed São Paulo home, artist Nathalie Morhange hand-painted the walls of the master suite. A blue Romo fabric curtains the windows, the bed is dressed in Victoria Mill embroidered linens, and club chairs covered in a Stroheim print are placed on an Arraiolos carpet.
New York designer Miles Redd recast the interiors of a Texas family’s vacation house at the Lyford Cay club in the Bahamas. The living room walls and ceiling are covered in a China Seas fabric, with curtains to match. The sofa is by Oscar de la Renta Home for Century Furniture, and the antique slipper chair is clad in a blue Global Leathers hide.
