The trend we are seeing is that the kitchen is the hub of the home for our clients. It’s where families gather not only to prepare meals, but where children do their homework, adults pay bills and everyone watches television and entertains.
Smaller spaces are being opened up to incorporate broader entertainment functions. Often we are removing walls between kitchen and dining rooms and including an open island or peninsula to connect the two. This enables us to expand the size and functionality of kitchen and dining areas and allows these spaces to serve several purposes.
