In the dining room of this Illinois home, Jennifer Kranitz of Chicago-based firm PROjECT used silk drapery as the backdrop to a pair of African portraits, allowing the subtle shimmer of the fabric to create a contrast with the chains used to hang the artwork and balance the drama of the Mongolian fur ladder back dining chairs and Oly bubble chandelier.
Well-thought drapery creates an exquisite backdrop for an interior and is one design element that greatly contributes to the final look and feel of the space. Here, we’ve selected 10 rooms from some of our favorite homes that showcase the creative ways that top designers use drapery to accomplish a high-design look.
